The long-distance diagnosis is a special service we provide to our patients by full use of modern technological means like e-mails, on-line audio-visual facilities, mails, telephones and faxes, etc., to complete the full process from establishing medical record, diagnosing patients to delivering specific treatments to each patient, including the follow-up consultations. In the beginning of 1950s, the medical community in the United States first put forward the notion of providing more individualized, more humane and at-home-treatment, as a result of which, the long-distance diagnosis came into being. Convenient, time-saving and technically accurate, the long-distance first caught on in the United States and then spread to the Europe. Limited by our awareness, the long-distance diagnosis developed very slowly in China. Backed up the technological advances and improvement in patients' awareness, the long-distance diagnosis entered a new phase of development, making possible for cross-region and even cross-country medical service and providing a new platform for medical experience exchange.
